The Colonial League and East Penn Conference playoff schedules for basketball were pushed back due to weather and school closings this week.
Tonight’s games (Thursday, Feb. 14) are as follows for the Colonial League:
Catasauqua High School
5:45 p.m.- Girls #1 Notre Dame-Green Pond vs. #4 Bangor
7:30 p.m. - Boys #1 Moravian Academy vs. #4 Bangor
Whitehall High School
6 p.m. - Girls #2 Southern Lehigh vs. #3 Northwestern Lehigh
7:45 p.m. - Boys #2 Southern Lehigh vs. #3 Notre Dame-Green Pond
The East Penn Conference and Colonial League announced matchups for their respective league tournaments, which start Friday.
In the EPC, the Bethlehem Catholic boys get the top seed and will host eight-seed Easton at 7:30 p.m. Emmaus earns the second seed and will host Central at 6 p.m.
Freedom takes the fifth seed and will travel to Nazareth for a 7:30 p.m. game while Allen sneaked in on the final night of play to earn the sixth seed and a date at Pocono Mountain East for a 7 p.m. game.
The opening rounds of the District 11 team championships took place on Thursday without a lot of surprises.
In the 3A competition, the biggest “upset” was 5-seed Nazareth making it through to the semifinals. Along the way they beat 12-seed Whitehall 65-6 and then knocked off 4-seed Stroudsburg 57-12.
That sets up the Eagles third meeting with Liberty in just two weeks. The Hurricanes are the top seed after beating Nazareth in the EPC finals last week. Liberty handled Emmaus 64-7 to advance after the Hornets beat 8-seed Freedom 31-25 in the pigtail round.
District 11 announced its pairings for the team championships.
Action gets underway at three different sites beginning Thursday and wrapping up on Saturday.
For Thursday, wrestling will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Subsequent matches will not begin before 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 adults, $3 students, $3 senior citizens.
For Saturdary, morning session tickets are $6 adults, $3 students, $3 senior citizens.
Saturday evening session tickets are $6. Only District XI passes are to be accepted. No league passes for any session.
The EPC released its schedule for the 2018-19 Wrestling Championship Day.
The event takds place Saturday, Jan. 26 at Easton Middle School. Adult admission is $6 and it’s $3 for students and senior citizens.
Round 1 kicks off at 1:30 p.m.:
13th - Pleasant Vy. vs. Dieruff
15th - Pocono Mt. West vs. Allen
17th - Central vs. Eastburg North
Round 2 starts at 3:15 p.m.:
7th - Parkland vs. Stroudsburg
9th - Emmaus vs. Eastburg South
11th - Whitehall vs. Pocono Mt. East
Round 3 is 5 p.m.:
3rd - Becahi vs. Easton
The East Penn Conference announced pairings for championship week in field hockey and boys and girls soccer.
Field hockey action gets underway Saturday.
Emmaus earned the top seed and will take on Parkland, the eighth seed at Emmaus at 1 p.m.
Liberty is the four seed and will host Stroudsburg the fifth seed at 2:30 p.m. at BASD.
Pocono East is the third seed and will host sixth-seed Nazareth at 1:30 p.m. Easton is the second seed and will host Northampton at noon.
The semifinals are Tuesday, Oct. 16 with the finals on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The District 11 track and field meet is still on for Wednesday, May 16, for day one with day two scheduled for Thursday, May 17. Both days take place at Whitehall High School with action beginning at 3 p.m.
Thursday will be a busy day for area baseball and softball teams:
Whitehall AD Bob Hartman annouced that due to road conditions from Winter Storm Riley, Friday’s Northeast Regional Wrestling Tournament will be moved to all day Saturdary at Liberty High School.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference made their pairings official on Wednesday night for the EPC Championship Wrestling Day, which is set for Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Easton Area Middle School.
Round 1 begins at 1:30 p.m. and features three matches: 17th – Pleasant Valley vs. Central Catholic; 15th – PM West vs. Dieruff and 13th – ES North vs. Allen.
Round 2 begins at 3:15 p.m. and also features three matches: 11th – Emmaus vs. PM East; 9th – Whitehall vs. Freedom and 7th – Stroudsburg vs. Parkland.
The East Penn Conference softball playoffs will look to beat the rain and get under way Friday afternoon.
By virtue of a perfect mark, the Parkland Trojans are this year’s number-one seed. They will face off against Northampton, which sneaks in as the number-eight seed. The two, of course, are very familiar Skyline Division opponents.
Liberty will take the second seed after finishing 14-2 in the EPC. They will take on seven-seed Whitehall, which is coming off a 9-8 shootout loss to Easton on Thursday afternoon in a game that featured seeding implications.
