The Lady Hornets never trailed and rolled the Tide for three straight games to take the match and stay alive in the District 11 Class AAA tournament.

"I told the girls to light the court up," said Emmaus head...

Friday, November 1, 2013 by CHUCK HIXSON Special to the Press in HS Sports

After a disappointing quick exit in the Lehigh Valley Conference playoffs, Emmaus was hoping for a better turnout in districts. Unfortunately, the Lady Hornets found themselves disappointed again when they lost to Whitehall 5-0 in the first round of District 11 girls soccer playoffs.

During the regular season, the Lady Hornets were also disappointed by Whitehall, which grabbed a 3-1 win over Emmaus back in mid-September when the Zephyrs were still struggling to win games. That loss...

Football falls to Whitehall

Thursday, October 24, 2013 by TYLER TRUMBAUER Special to the Press in HS Sports

During Emmaus's five-game winning streak all three units played well enough to do their job and capture the victory.

The same can't be said about last Friday night's game.

Whitehall (6-1 in LVC; 7-1 overall) defeated Emmaus (5-2; 5-3) on homecoming at Zephyr Stadium last Friday, 19-7, as the Zephyrs snapped the Hornet winning streak and severely damaged Emmaus' Lehigh Valley Conference title hopes in the process.

The Zephyrs took advantage of Emmaus' miscues and lack of...

It was a matter of seconds though in the second half that may have told the story for the Green Hornets in a 3-2 setback to the Trojans.

The Hornets led the game on two seperate occassions, but the tournament's No. 3 seed was unable to hold onto the lead. Emmaus surrendered the lead when Parkland's Rachel Medlar...

Easton beats Emmaus in LVC boys soccer semi

Thursday, October 24, 2013 by CHUCK HIXSON Special to the Press in HS Sports

Coming in as the top seed, it was easy to imagine Emmaus advancing to the Lehigh Valley Conference championship game. It became even easier to imagine when Emmaus grabbed a 2-0 lead over Easton and dominated the firsthalf of its semifinal meeting with the Red Rovers, but that's where the vision became a little blurry.

Easton came out rejuvenated in the second half and worked its way back to a 2-2 tie. The Rovers eventually snuck away with a 3-2 win after a controversial goal in the...
