Bakeer Jones, 33, of Lebanon, was arrested for DUI and drug possession with intent to deliver on Interstate 78 westbound at exit 55, Salisbury Township, 1:29 a.m. Nov. 29. Jones was stopped for a suspended Pennsylvania registration violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of marijuana and in possession of a large amount of the controlled substance.
Michael Parham, 51, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on State Route 222 northbound in the area of Interstate 78, Lower Macungie Township, 2:31 a.m. Nov. 21. Parham allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .10 percent at the time of the stop.
Thomas Winters, 55, of Wescosville, was arrested for DUI on Hamilton Boulevard at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:47 a.m. Dec. 8. Winters was stopped for a summary traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
On Dec. 5, David Fried, of 3650 Schoeneck Road, Lower Macungie, was reported missing from the area of Lockridge Park in Alburtis. He was found deceased Dec. 6 in Lower Macungie.
At 5:38 p.m., Dec. 5, Alburtis Police Officer Christopher Lubenetski emailed an alert message to Nixle subscribers saying there was police activity in Alburtis Borough as the police were searching for a missing person. They requested the use of caution while driving as officers were searching the areas both by foot and by vehicle and no actions were required or requested of the public.
Possession of stolen property
A 16-year-old male was arrested for possession of stolen property at Emmaus High School Nov. 15. He was in possession of six stolen items including iPads and iPhones at the school. Charges have been filed with the Lehigh County Juvenile Probation Department.
Theft from a motor vehicle
An unknown actor stole a large quantity of tools from a vehicle in the 500 block of Green Street, Emmaus, Dec. 4.
Lauren Ickes, 22, of Alburtis, was arrested for DUI on Mountain Road northeast of Lorene Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 1:57 a.m. Nov. 3. Ickes was involved in a single-vehicle accident and allegedly drove off the road while attempting to negotiate a right hand curve. Ickes said she was distracted by the radio and was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Joseph Beck, 44, of Macungie and Allentown, was charged with wire fraud in connection with an alleged investment and loan scam Nov. 26.
According to the office of the U.S. Attorney, Beck and others, both known and unknown to the grand jury, allegedly devised a scheme for inducing people to purchase corporations which had never engaged in business and were only legitimate on paper. Victims were told owning these "shelf corporations" would convince borrowers to grant them higher limits on private loans and credit cards.
District Attorney Jim Martin; Chief Roger MacLean, Allentown Police Department; Chief Daniel Trexler, Coopersburg Police Department; Chief Linda Kulp, Whitehall Police Department; and Chief David Faust, Emmaus Police Department announced the filing of criminal charges against the actor labeled by the media as "The Bicycle Bandit."
Adrian Minaya Gomez, 19, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:29 p.m. Nov. 20. Minaya Gomez allegedly attempted to steal three Playstation games and one computer software program with a total value of $134.87.
Kristen Fiorot, 28, of Bethlehem, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:45 p.m. Nov. 22. Fiorot allegedly attempted to conceal several bottles of baby formula while leaving the store.
Matthew Uribe, 23, of Bethlehem, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 at mile marker 62.8, Upper Saucon Township, 2:01 a.m. Nov. 18. Uribe was stopped for a traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Matthew Eherts, 20, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI in the Wawa parking lot, 4900 Hamilton Blvd., Wescosville, 4:31 a.m. Nov. 18. Eherts was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle.
Prohibited offensive weapon
Jonathan Phung Vu, 19, of Macungie, was arrested for DUI on Hamilton Boulevard at Kressler Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:02 a.m. Nov. 10. Vu was stopped for a routine traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Rebecca Ziegenfus, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on Shepherd Hills Avenue at Shepherd Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:26 a.m. Nov. 11. Ziegenfus was stopped for a traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
