Aggravated

Matthew Paul Dengler, 22, of Macungie, was arrested Sept. 15 in the 1100 block of Eagle Drive on charges of suspicion of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after allegedly being involved in a domestic dispute, according to police. Dengler was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center and processed, according to police.

Sobriety checkpoint

A total of 57 motorists were stopped, one driving under the influence arrest was made and 32 citations were issued during a sobriety checkpoint in Lower Macungie Township between 10 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3 a.m. Sept. 3. The contacts with drivers were made after the checkpoint had to be canceled due to inclement weather, according to police.

A resident in the 4800 block of Pine Grove Circle, Lower Macungie Township, reported an unknown actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod device Sept. 15, according to police.

Retail theft

Ashley Marie Wilkinson, 31, of Reading, was charged with suspicion of retail theft after she allegedly removed and conspired to steal 100 containers of Similac Advance Optigro infant formula and two cases of Red Bull energy drink valued at $1,585 from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between March 26 and May 3, 2016, according to police.

Public drunkenness

Patty Ann Walter, 46, of Emmaus, was arrested Aug. 27 for suspicion of public drunkenness in the 500 block of Chestnut Street after allegedly causing a disturbance, according to police.

An 18-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested Sept. 9 in the 1000 block of Chestnut Street for theft after he bought items and received change for a counterfeit bill at CVS, 702 Chestnut St.

A burglary was reported Sept. 9 in the 200 block of Stephen Street. Nothing of value was stolen.

Theft

An unknown actor removed a shower tool kit, shower manifold and tubing rolls from in front of a residence in the 700 block of Frank Drive. The theft was reported Aug. 30. The kit and other items were valued at $250.

A 19-year-old-male, of Breinigsville, was arrested Sept. 1 for trespassing after he entered a posted private property in the unit block of South Klines Lane.

An unknown actor drew graffiti with a permanent marker on the concrete steps of a church in the 500 block of Chestnut Street, causing $50 damage. The incident was reported Aug. 30.

Lehigh County DUI Task Force conducts Macungie checkpoint

One highway safety officer described long holiday weekends as “particularly busy times on our highways,” and cited the need to remind motorists of the hazards of impaired driving as one of the rationales for the checkpoint set up late evening, Sept. 1, by the Lehigh County DUI Task along Route 100 in Macungie.

About two dozen law enforcement personnel from several Lehigh County municipalities participated in the checkpoint to check for motorists who were driving impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Simple assault

Angela Marie Brown, 39, of Allentown, was arrested Aug. 24 on charges of suspicion of simple assault and harassment following a domestic dispute in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. She was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center and processed, according to police. Charges were filed, according to court records.

An unknown actor entered a vehicle and removed a black vape pen valued at $280. The incident was reported Aug. 22 in the 200 block of North Street.

DUI

Colin Michael Corrigan, 30, of Bethlehem, was arrested Aug. 12 on suspicion of driving under the influence, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, accident involving an unattended vehicle and driving under suspension after he allegedly was involved in a hit and run accident in the 200 block of South Second Street. Corrigan was transported to Lehigh County DUI center and processed, according to police. Charges were filed, according to court documents.
