Stephen J. Silnik Sr., 89, of Allentown and formerly of Emmaus, died Dec. 18, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was husband of the late Margaret A. (Schueck) Silnik. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Demeter and Mary Silnik.

He worked in construction, at Perma Stone, and was a machine operator for That's Packaging for many years.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.

He is survived by a son, Stephen J. Jr. of Allentown; brother, Raymond of Emmaus.

Witold Jurewicz, 58, of Lower Macungie Township, died December 18, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Bozena Jurewicz, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Apolonia (Harasim) Jurewicz.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He was a limousine driver for J & J Limousine Service for many years.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Olivia; brother, Stanislaw; sister-in-laws, Ewa Bartecka and family, and Joanna Rothkegel and family.

Ruth A. Mack, 82, of Breinigsville, died December 19, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of Jack C. Mack. Born in Nuremburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Amelia (Treltz) Nicolodi.

She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and later as a sales clerk for the former H. Leh and Company, Sears, Hess's, and Bon-Ton.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

Mary Alice Schoch, 80, of Emmaus, died December 18, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the wife of Robert C. Schoch. They were married for 63 years this past Nov. 19. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Florence (Hartman) Lorah.

She was active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts when her children were young.

She worked part time for Rodale Press and also volunteered for the Osteopathic Hospital, Allentown.

She was a member of St. John's UCC Church, Emmaus.

Marion D. Gottier, 88, of Macungie, formerly of Malvern and Narberth, died December 12, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of the late Everett C. Gottier. Born in Philadelphia, she was the only child of the late Peter and Helga (Christensen) Mattison.

She was employed by Girard Bank (Narberth branch) until her retirement.

During her retirement she enjoyed the company of her family and friends, reading and completing crossword puzzles.

Paul K. Gambler

Paul K. Gambler went to eternal rest December 9, 2012 at the University of Penn Medical Center. He was the husband of Carol Gambler. Born on September 10, 1942, he was a son of the late Paul W. Gambler and Catherine (Szillie) Gambler.

He worked for Kline Foundry until they closed and then worked as a greens keeper at Brookside Country Club.

He will be remembered as an avid hunter.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, David and Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Ott-Gambler; brothers, Gerald, Ronald and Donald.

James Richard Hummel

James Richard Hummel, 54, died unexpectedly November 20, 2012, in his home in Flower Mound, Texas. He was the husband of Mary Raimo. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Richard James Hummel (publisher of the Call Chronicle newspaper) and the late Martha Mignon (Wagner) Hummel.

He was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Penn State University and received his master's degree at LaSalle University.

Franklin W. Kleckner, 90, of Allentown, died December 11, 2012, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Alice E. (Pry) Klecker, who died Nov. 4, 2012. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William and Mabel Kleckner.

He worked in sales most of his life. He worked for B Inc., Allentown, Hunter Engineering in St. Louis, Mo., and was part owner in the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market.
