Eleanor R. Fredericks, 92, formerly of Macungie, died February 19, 2013, in Arden Courts, Lower Macungie Township. Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Otto L. and Bertha M. (Kokat) Fredericks.

She graduated from Mahanoy City High School and was a 1940 graduate of McCann School of Business, Mahanoy City. She was employed at Mack Trucks Inc., for over 40 years, retiring in 1981 as the executive secretary for the vice president and controller at the world headquarters. Previously, she was the secretary for the controller at the Allentown plant.

Peter Christian "Pete" Larson, of Macungie, died February 19, 2013, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was the husband of Carole Larson. They were married for 23 years. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Hugo and Esthena (Randolph) Larson.

He graduated from Penn State University in 1953 and joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Betty M. Reinert, 87, of Emmaus, formerly of Macungie, died February 23, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Raymond P.J. Reinert. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Richard W. and Esther M. (Gernerd) Moose.

She was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School.

She retired from Spirax Sarco, Allentown after 21 years of dedicated service as an invoice clerk. Previously she was employed as a secretary at Breyer's Ice Cream Company, Allentown.

Glen Roy P. Meck

GlenRoy P. Meck, 88, of Macungie, died February 22, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Florence E. (Kemp) Meck. They were married for 66 years. Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Briden C. and Eula H. (Shoemaker) Meck.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Macungie VFW and Macungie Fire Company No. 1.

He was employed as a laborer at the former Macungie Foundry for many years, retiring in 1986.

Lawrence J. Schoepple, 69, of Macungie, died February 14, 2013, at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Eileen (Rompella) Schoepple. They would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in May. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late James Schoepple and Betty J. (Dorward) Finn.

He was employed by Allen Organ Company for 51 years.

He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves.

He is survived by his wife; mother; son, Steven J. and his wife Anne, of Allentown; granddaughters, Hannah and Abigail.

A. Hazel May, 89, of Luther Crest Retirement Community, South Whitehall Township, formerly of Harris York, Macungie, died February 19, 2013, in the Health Center at Luther Crest. She was the wife of Walter May. They would have been married for 40 years in April. Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late Donald R. and Marian Hazel (Sterner) Richards.

She was the executive secretary to the chairman, president and CEO of Mack Trucks, Allentown for many years, retiring in 1973.

In 1956 she was awarded the title of "Mrs. Allentown."

John F. Grim

John F. Grim, 72, of Lower Macungie Township, died February 15, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Chiyo T. (Tsukiyama) Grim. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this past May. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Catherine R. (Murtaugh) Grim Sr.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Althea O. Wetzel Burns, 84, of Whitehall, and formerly of Emmaus, died February 13, 2013, at the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Joseph V. Burns Jr. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel M. (Miller) Rhode.

She was a retired beautician in Emmaus.

She is survived by a grandson, Jamie N. Wetzel and his wife, Heather; great-grandson, Jamie N. Wetzel Jr. She was predeceased by a son, Glenn Wetzel; grandson, Jason Wetzel.

Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.

Donald G. Peter

Donald G. Peter, 86, formerly of Allentown, died February 10, 2013, in Clare Bridge of Dublin, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Phyllis B. (Bachman) Peter. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Russell A. and Mable I. (George) Peter.

He was a 1943 graduate of William Allen High School and a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg College.

One of his favorite jobs included working with his father and uncle at Peters Motor Company selling Studebaker automobiles. He was a sales representative for Cascade School Supplies for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
