Ruth D. Boehm, 82, of Upper Milford Township, died Nov. 14, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Inpatient Hospice Unit. She was the wife of the late Donald W. Boehm Sr. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Russel and Dorothy I. (Kratzer) Brinker.
She was employed as a cashier for the former Fenstermaker’s Market, Emmaus, for many years before retiring from Bancorp, Inc.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Emmaus.
Wayne A. Stottmeister, 62, of Lower Macungie Township, died unexpectedly Nov. 12, 2018, in his home. Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late William Stottmeister and Betty Shiflett.
He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and Lehigh University.
He worked for many years in the chocolate candy manufacturing and sales industry, at Hershey, then for Bortz Chocolate and then for Superior Chocolate. In later years, he was an independent contractor, delivering recreational vehicles from the manufacturer to the dealers.
Joyce M. Gery, 90, of Emmaus, died Nov. 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late Nathan B. Gery, who died in 2009. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Florence (Snyder) Eastman.
She was employed at Air Products and Chemicals for 40 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband David Hamilton; grandchildren, Nathan and his wife, Nicole and Carrie Hamilton.

Henry W. Powell, 86, of Allentown, died Nov. 6, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of the late Claire D. (McGovern) Powell, who died April 25, 2016. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John K. and Mabel A. (Breiner) Powell.
He was employed at Duggan & Marcon as a plasterer before retiring.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Allentown.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War.
He was a loving, loyal and most generous husband, father and grandfather, who will be dearly missed.
Loretta G. Pondelek, 92, died Nov. 5, 2018, at The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the wife of the late Alfred C. Pondelek, who died in March 2006. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Stock) Deily.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie, where she was the sexton and the primary department superintendent of the Sunday School program for more than 30 years. She was also a member of the Martha-Mary Society and the Macungie Grange.
She was previously the co-owner of Pondelek Greenhouse in Upper Milford.
Betty Jane Bray, 97, of Legacy Place Cottages, Salisbury Township, died Nov. 6, 2018. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Bray. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Jenny (Bogert) Dunton.
She worked in the personnel departments of various companies in the Lehigh Valley until retiring at the age of 81.
She was a member of the Central English Allentown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Lynda L. Kapec-Bortz, 69, of Alburtis, died Nov. 11, 2018, in her residence surrounded by family. She was the wife of Jeffrey A. Bortz. They were married for 17 years. Born in Elwood City, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ida (Gaal) Kanzleiter.
She was a graduate of Riverside High School and attended Point Park College.
She was a Realtor and co-owner of Re/Max Towne & Country, Maxatawny, since 1988.
She was an active member of Faith Church, serving in Divorce Care and was active in the children’s services on Wednesday nights.
Paul E. Larash, 89, of Salisbury Township, died Nov. 7, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of Lucille D. (Levan) Larash, They were married for 65 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Raymond and Sallie (Hendricks) Larash.
He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School, Kutztown Teacher’s College and earned a master’s degree in education from Lehigh University.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Lisa A. Durnin, 54, of Elkton, Md., formerly of Emmaus, died Nov. 9, 2018, with her sister at her side at Seasons Hospice, Baltimore, Md. after a brief illness. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Dennis) Durnin.
She was a graduate of Emmaus High School and East Stroudsburg University.
She was an intensive outpatient therapist at Aquila, Del. for over 20 years working with youth her entire career. She loved her “kids” and changed many lives over the course of her career.
Harry Gilbert Kalb, 87, of Macungie, died Nov. 5, 2018, in his daughter’s home. He was the husband of the late Elsie (Reichl) Kalb and the late Verna Reichl-Kalb. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harry and Florence (Ibach) Kalb.
He was a graduate of Allentown High School and was a foundry worker for General Electric/Black & Decker for 30 years, retiring in 1986.
He was an Airman First Class with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Church of St. Ann, Emmaus.
