Emmaus Borough Council unanimously approved several renovations to Legion Field at Community Park during their Aug. 20 meeting.

The approximately $50,000 in renovations will be paid for through various donations along with between $25,000 and $30,000 funded by the Emmaus Youth Association. The project was approved to go forward pending Americans with Disabilities Act compliance.

A: There are many benefits of breast-feeding for babies. Just a few of them are: decreased allergies, decreased ear infections, decreased risk of obesity, decreased risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, decreased risk of several cancers, decreased risk of juvenile diabetes and increased IQ. The Church of St. Ann, 415 S. Sixth St., will hold its 30th annual fall fest, 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 6; 5 to 11 p.m. Sept. 7 and 4 to 11 p.m. Sept. 8. Kara Mercado, 33, of Emmaus, was arrested for DUI on S. 8th Street, Emmaus, 12:43 a.m. July 28. Mercado was allegedly under the influence during a traffic stop.
