Q. Do feet get larger as you age?

Feet get bigger over decades of pounding. Some people over the age of 40 can gain half a shoe size every 10 years.

Feet flatten out because their supporting tendons and ligaments lose their elasticity. As the tendon along the length of the sole elongates, the arch lowers. Another reason feet enlarge is that the force of your weight thins the fat pads cushioning the bottom of the feet.

Attempted child luring

An unknown actor attempted to lure a child by offering ice cream in the 4600 block of Berwyn Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 7 p.m. Oct. 25. The 9-year-old child ran away and the vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction. The vehicle was reported as a black sedan with possible window tint. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 610-395-1438.

Emmaus couple celebrates 65th wedding anniversary

Marvin and Blanche (Arndt) Schantz of Emmaus celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Oct. 25. They were married by The Rev. David Kauffman at Zions Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, where they are still members.

The 2012-2013 school year is certainly accelerating at an alarming rate. We are already past Homecoming week, which proved to be a fun event for students and faculty at Emmaus High School alike.

Students enjoyed the powder-puff football tournament, spirit week dress-up days, the Homecoming parade, the Homecoming game, and of course the Homecoming dance.
