Couple renew vows

at Heidelberg UCC

Edward and Eleanor Lavage of Bethlehem celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 25 with a renewal of vows ceremony at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, Heidelberg Township, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

The ceremony at Heidelberg Church was special to Eleanor because she is a descendant of Casper Peter, one of the founding members of Heidelberg Church, founded in 1740.

2013 nuptials

Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Buxton of Emmaus announce the engagement of their daughter, Katelyn, to Brandon Quigney, son of Michael Quigney Sr. of Allentown and Mrs. Cheryl Reiss of Whitehall.

Katelyn, an Emmaus High School graduate, is a hairstylist for Carlee & Company Salon, Allentown.

Her fiance, a Whitehall High School graduate, is a driver for Cooper Electric, Bethlehem.

The couple is planning a September 2013 wedding.

The fifth National Take Back Day drug collection event has been scheduled 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 when Lehigh County residents can take expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications to police departments and other locations at 16 sites in the county.

Emmaus Borough Council postponed voting on an ordinance banning commercial trucks from parking on borough streets at the Sept. 17 meeting.

Helmut and Ruthie (Denkenberger) Wicker, who have lived in Schnecksville for 30 years. recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
