To the Editor:

In response to a letter to the editor by Jane Aylor Fretz in the March 14 opinion page, "Standing up to the NRA, I felt I had to respond.

She is wrong about the NRA being a front group for gun manufacturers; they have a membership of hundreds of thousands of decent freedom loving Americans! Next "Guns don't kill people, people kill people!"

"If guns kill people, than pencils misspell words."

Besides there is no such thing as an "assault weapon."...

Local author Bryan Svencer will visit the Emmaus Public Library to talk about his new book, EDUTAINMENT 1:30 p.m. April 6. It includes 17 dynamic teaching strategies and incentives for the 21st century.

"This is not your mother's classroom anymore," Svencer said.

Svencer teaches fourth grade at Lincoln School in Emmaus and has been incorporating this philosophy in his classroom for years. After his talk he will autograph copies of the book, for sale at the library at that time...

Six months after one has obtained their drivers permit, they are allowed to get their license. In the state of Pennsylvania, the age that one gets their permit is 16.

Some legislators are arguing for a national graduated driver licensing law to replace the separate individual state regulations.
