The 2012 Vera Cruz Halloween Parade will start and end at Mystic Chain Park with staging beginning 6 p.m. The parade route is 1.5 miles and runs from Main Road East and West to Vera Cruz Road. The parade dates back to 1923 and promises to be bigger and better than ever with the help of the Emmaus Marching Band. Cash prizes will be awarded to individual marchers, groups and float entries. Kyle Cope, a recent graduate of Emmaus High School, had an angel at his side earlier this year.

On Feb. 27, Cope was involved in a very serious car accident, one that left him pinned inside the vehicle.

Lower Macungie Fire Department Chief Dave Nosal told the story of the rescue at the commissioners meeting Oct. 4. Lower Macungie Paramedics and Faust Towing were also present as they were an integral part of the story.

CCHS faculty and students have once again come together to continue the Central City Project. An organization started two years ago by John Gribowhich, the Central City Project serves to aid Central Catholic students in developing a stronger connection to the surrounding community through multiple events and service projects.

The Project is now headed by Patrick Markham and Anthony Clifford, members of the theology and English departments at CCHS, respectively.
