Ordinances approved Feb. 7

In a roll call vote, with President Ron Eichenberg abstaining, the Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners' approval was unanimous Feb. 7 for the rezoning ordinance for the Remington Property development near Allen Organ. This will allow for apartments in a commercial zone.

The Lower Macungie Township Planning Commission and Lehigh Valley Planning Commission have also expressed their approval for this project.

State of the Building

Central Catholic High School held its State of the Building presentation Feb. 3 in Rockne Hall.

Led by Principal Dennis Nemes, the presentation was composed of multiple speakers from the various Central Catholic office departments.

The presentation began with a representative from the Catholic School Development Program, an organization focused on bettering Central Catholic as a whole. The organization's main goals were outlined, including developing the identity of CCHS, growing enrollment and increasing fundraising.

Beekeepers cite LCCC as educational advocate for their association

The Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association recently cited Lehigh Carbon Community College for their support of beekeeping and beekeepers in the Lehigh Valley.

LCCC President Donald W. Snyder was on hand recently to accept the award from Association President Steve Finke, of Kutztown, as well as to offer the facility's continued support of the various beekeeper programs held on campus.

The college grounds are home to the Association's Apiary which is used for hands on educational training for new and seasoned beekeepers throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons.
