James P. Ewell, 87, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown and Philadelphia, died September 15, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Mary (Bradley) Ewell. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James P. and Ellen (Anderson) Ewell.
He was a graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia and LaSalle University, and was a district sales manager for Uniroyal Corporation for many years until retiring.

Mr. Dennis Nemes was welcomed as the new Central Catholic High School principal.
Mr. Nemes takes over as principal of CCHS after spending a total of 30 years as the principal of Northwestern Lehigh High School. He comes to Central with a great amount of enthusiasm and excitement for this upcoming school year.
Ruth G. Yutz, 92, died September 11, 2012, of natural causes in Covington, Ga. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Yutz. She previously resided in Emmaus and Allentown, before moving to Social Circle, Ga., in 2005 to reside with her son. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Goheen) Miller and Raymond Goheen.
She was a 1938 graduate of Emmaus High School and 1942 graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
"Spirituality and the Twelve Steps," 7- 9 p.m. Sept. 19, Bahnson Center of Moravian Theological Seminary, 60 W. Locust St., Bethlehem, is the latest in a once per semester seminar offered by the seminary's Office of Enrollment.
The seminar highlights the role of the 12 steps in the development of spirituality for the recovering person and its impact on the family.

Janice E.R. Moore, 66, of Macungie, died September 17, 2012, at Emeritus of Allentown. She was the wife of the late Andrew H.R. Moore. Born in Hampton, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Donald Sr. and Helen (Stephens) Roberts.
She had been employed as a secretary for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Allentown for many years.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown.
