Eva Suzanne Krall Forndran, 88, of Emmaus, died October 23, 2012, in her home. She endured a long time with frontal temporal dementia (Pick's Disease). She was the wife of the late Werner Ernst Forndran, artist and pigment chemist, who died in 1990. Born in Vienna, Austria, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Bertha (Legerer) Krall.

She attended the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna and received her license in early childhood education in Freiburg, Germany before emigrating to the United States in 1957 with her family.

Learning how to discern the whole truth

I don't know about you, but the amount of information presented during the presidential and vice presidential debates this year sometimes left my head spinning.

While I found it easy, as each debate concluded, to determine which candidate had presented himself most admirably, knowing how to interpret the purported "facts" presented was a challenge with which I needed some help.

The candidates spent weeks preparing for these debates, carefully crafting ways of presenting their viewpoints that would read well to their target audiences.

Drive-through flu shots Nov. 3, 4

Lehigh Valley Health Network will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for adults and children six months and older during two community sessions in November. Shots will be all drive-through at Dorney Park 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 and at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 each day.

U.S. postal carrier

Patricia Lynn Conrad, 61, of Macungie, died October 17, 2012, at home. She was the wife of John Tycholiz. Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of Pauline (Rutherford), wife of Theodore Pietrafessa and the late John Knight.

She retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she worked for 23 years as a mail carrier in Tampa, Fla. Previously she worked in real estate sales in the area at Singer-Hacker, and Century 21 Scandola Conrad Relators.

She is survived by her husband; mother and stepfather; brother, Rick Pietrafessa, of Allentown.

Emmaus Newcomers Club member

Isabel E. Kistler, 89, of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, died October 26, 2012. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Kistler. Born in Shamrock, she was the daughter of Abram M. and Clara S. (Miller) Lehman.

She was employed at Hess Brothers in Allentown until her retirement.

She was a member of New Jerusalem U.C.C.

She was a member of Ontelaunee Region Car Club and the Automobile Club of America. She was also a member of the Emmaus Newcomers Club.
