Children’s author/illustrator Micha Archer will visit Lower Macungie Library 2 to 3 p.m. April 20 to share her book “Daniel Finds a Poem.” There will be a storytime, craft and activity. The first 50 registered children in attendance will receive a copy of the book.
A program “Royal Women Rule” will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 26. Heather Simoneau will lead an informal discussion on the influence of women on the British monarchy and world affairs. Tea and scones will be served.
There will be an Easter Eggstravaganza Vendor Fair 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 9 at Macungie Memorial Hall. There will be direct sales vendors, crafters, baked goods, refreshments, kids activities and door prizes. For more information, call Jennifer at 267-382-9740.
Egg decorating for the Easter egg hunt will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15 at Macungie Memorial Park.
There will be photos with the Easter Bunny 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15 at the Flower Park. The event is sponsored by the Town Beautification Committee.
The Lower Macungie Library will be closed April 14 for a spring holiday.
The library is now accepting book donations for the spring 2017 book sale at the donations counter to the left of the information desk. Acceptable donations include gently used books, DVDs, music CDs and audiobooks on CDs. Unacceptable items include damaged, dirty or incomplete items, magazines, newspapers, textbooks, encyclopedias and Reader’s Digest condensed books.
Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie, will hold Ash Wednesday services 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 1. Lenten worship services will be held 7 p.m. March 8, 15, 22 and 29 and April 5. There will be an indoor flea market at Macungie Memorial Park 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 11. The deadline to register is March 4.
There will be a “Cherries, Chocolate and Jazz” event 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 25 (snowdate Feb. 26) at the Lower Macungie Township Library. Appetizers, desserts and beverages will be provided with music by the Kutztown University Jazz Quartet. Tickets (adults only) can be purchased online at lowermaclib.org, at the library, or by mailing a check payable to Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie, 18062. Tickets are not available at the door. Proceeds benefit the library.
The Parkland Art League will hold its next meeting at the Macungie Institute 7 p.m. Feb. 14 with artist Lee Baldwin demonstrating in watercolors.

The Emmaus High School orchestra will host a coffeehouse 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the cafeteria. A wide variety of musical entertainment will be provided by the students. Coffee, hot chocolate and desserts will be available for purchase. There is a cover charge. All proceeds benefit the orchestra department. The snow date is Feb. 3.
The Macungie Public Works Crew will collect Christmas trees Jan. 9 and 16, for recycling at the Emmaus Compost Center. All ornaments, lights and tinsel must be removed.

The eighth annual craft/vendor fair will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center. Over 100 crafters and vendors will be participating. Brookside Deli will offer lunch 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch can be purchased 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A free shuttle from the parking lot to the door is available.

The Macungie curbside leaf collection will take place weekly during the month of November. Residents should rake their leaves to the curb by 7 a.m. Leaves can also be taken to the borough garage on South Church Street.
The Parkland Art League will hold its meeting 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St. Internationally known artist Hong Tatt Foo will be the guest demonstrator for the meeting.
