Residents needed to adopt ‘homeless’ scarecrows

The Macungie Town Beautification Committee is looking for Macungie residents who are willing to adopt “homeless” scarecrows to line East and West Main Street in the borough. After they have adorned Main Street, they will be turned over to the purchaser. For more information on adopting a scarecrow, call 610-966-4951 or write to Macungie Town Beautification, 20 W. Lower Macungie Twp. Library book sale Nov. 17 and 18

Lower Macungie Library will be closed Nov. 23 and 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Lower Macungie Library Book Club will meet 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 6 for a holiday luncheon. The book for Jan. 3 is “The Snow Child” by Eowyn Ivey.

The library is sponsoring a Longwood Christmas bus trip 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 3. Contact the library to make a reservation.
