Evangelia Papadopoulos and Maureen Longernecker have joined Keller Williams' Northampton County office in Bethlehem.
Papadopoulos has been a full-time Realtor since 2006 and was previously with Weichert Realtors. The Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors (LVAR) released a new research report indicating year-to-date sales, pending sales and the affordability index up over the same time last year.
January 2013 data comparisons over last year at the same time indicate that closed sales were up 2.3 percent to 307, while pending sales were up 30.7 percent to 511.
Inventory decreased 16.8 percent to 3,157 units and new listings decreased 2.4 percent to 953.

David Jaindl, owner and president of Jaindl Farms, Jaindl Turkey Sales, Jaindl Land Company, and Schantz Orchards, all of Orefield, has been chosen to receive the 2013 Associates Award from the Associates of Cedar Crest College during the Associates Luncheon, noon March 6, Tompkins College Center.
Jaindl served on the Cedar Crest College Board of Trustees 2005 - '10. During his tenure, he participated in the transition from president Dorothy Gulbenkian Blaney to president Carmen Twillie Ambar.

Alison R. Byerly has been named the 17th president of Lafayette College.
Byerly takes office on July 1 as the first woman president of Lafayette, which was founded in 1826.
She succeeds Daniel H. Weiss, who assumes the presidency of Haverford College in July.
Byerly has served in leadership positions at Middlebury College for 13 years, most recently as provost and executive vice president.
Byerly holds an interdisciplinary faculty appointment at Middlebury and has been a visiting scholar at MIT, Stanford and Oxford.
The first Lehigh Valley Beer Week, featuring craft beer-related events, is Feb. 11 - 17.
Jesse Albertson, Fegley's Brew Works general manager, who proposed the idea, said, "I saw the success and community of Philly Beer Week and thought, 'Why can't we do this in the Lehigh Valley?'"
The list of participating breweries, pubs and restaurants is more than 20.

Data released by the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors (LVAR) Jan. 15 supports 2012 as a year of recovery for the local housing market.
As of December 2012, year-to-date sales were recorded at 5,701, up 13 percent over 2011 year-to-date sales of 5,046.
LVAR's research shows there were 6,374 pending sales year-to-date, which indicates transactions in process that have not yet closed. This figure marks an increase of 30 percent over 2011 year-to-date pending sales of 4,891.
