Luck of the Irish Penny Party to benefit The Sanctuary at Haafsville

The Sanctuary at Haafsville will hold a Luck of the Irish Penny Party 1 p.m. March 15 at Macungie Memorial Hall. Doors open 11 a.m. There will also be a basket raffle and food and bake sale. Bring a donation for the shelter dogs and cats to be entered in a special prize drawing. Kitchen sales benefit the K9 Kop Project and the New Tripoli Fire Company. Seating is limited; advance tickets can be purchased by calling 484-239-3076.

The Parkland Art League will hold its next meeting 7 p.m. March 10 at St. Anne’s Episcopal, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown. Artist Dane Tilghman will be the guest demonstrator. Tilghman is one of the premier painters of African American golf art and Negro League Baseball images. The third annual Workout & Wellness Expo will be held 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 7 at Macungie Memorial Park. There will be group fitness classes and health, fitness and wellness vendors. Bring a non-perishable food item or household item for Second Harvest Food Bank. All proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Backpack Buddies.

Grace Lutheran Church will host a free community meal 5-7 p.m. March 13.

The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, will hold its annual spring bazaar 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14. There will be crafts, attic treasures, a gift basket auction, food and a bake sale.

The Horlacher Chapter Spring Breweriana Show for beer cans and brewery advertising will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14 at Macungie Memorial Park.

The Friends of the Macungie Institute are sponsoring an all-inclusive bus trip to Sight and Sound Theatre to see “Queen Esther.” Tickets include a lunch buffet at The Inn of Leola. The registration deadline is March 18. For more information, contact Bob Young at 610-967-1219.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., will hold Lenten services 7 p.m. March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, will hold Lenten worship services 7 p.m. March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1. There will be a light Lenten supper 6 p.m.

There will be a Consign for Good spring/summer clothing sale at Faith Presbyterian Church in Emmaus 8 a.m. to noon and 5-8 p.m. March 27 and 8-11 a.m. March 28 to raise money for East Penn Neighbors Helping Neighbors. The Macungie Bears Swim Team will hold a meet the team event 12:30-2:30 p.m. April 4 at Emmaus High School.

The Macungie Fire Company meets 7 p.m. March 11 at the social quarters.

Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 7 p.m. March 9 at the post home on Lehigh Street.

The VFW Auxiliary of Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 1 p.m. March 19 at the post home.

The Macungie Rod and Gun Club Board meets 7 p.m. March 19 at the club.

Macungie Borough Council meets 7:30 p.m. March 16 and April 6 at borough hall, 21 Locust St., Macungie.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held downstairs 7 p.m. March 31. The public is welcome.
