Thomas L. Brunner
Thomas L. Brunner, 85, of DevonHouse Senior Living, formerly of Allentown, died Jan. 29, 2019, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Catherine E. (King) Brunner. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Percival and Mae (Laeger) Brunner.
He was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and served two years in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Kutztown State College and his master’s degree in elementary administration from Lehigh University. In 1962 he began his teaching career at the Hiram Dodd Elementary School with the Allentown School District. In 1967, he was appointed principal at the Western Salisbury Elementary School, a position he held for 25 years until retirement.
He was a member of the former St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He was currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.
He is survived by a son, Robert T., of Webster, N.Y.; daughter, Karen E., of Emmaus; granddaughter, Laura, of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Bishop, of Allentown.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 8 in the Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. A calling hour will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
