Carl W. Frantz, 85, of Lower Macungie Township, died Dec. 29, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of Lois A. (Frantz) Frantz, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Summit Hill, he was a son of the late William and Hulda (Hoppes) Frantz. He had a long career in banking starting with the Summit Hill Trust Co., then with First National Bank of Allentown, where he served as executive vice-president, next with Miner Savings Bank, serving as senior vice president and lastly with East Penn Bank.

He served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Emmaus and its choir and was the former director of music.

He was a member of the Emmaus Lodge F&AM, Scottish Rite Consistory, where he was a past treasurer and director of music, as well as a 33rd Degree Mason.

He was a longtime member of the Emmaus Rotary Club, where he was a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow.

He loved music and was very active in the community as a soloist at many weddings, funerals and other events.

He is survived by his wife; children, Donna and her husband Evan Slotter and their son, his beloved only grandchild Aaron, Douglas and his wife Jane and Debra and her husband Les Schoenberger; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin and a sister, Kathryn Haldeman.
