Mary Kathryn (Doyle) Surdoval, 89, of Macungie, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, June 28, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Surdoval, to whom she was married for over 58 years until his passing in 2014. Their wedding took place at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Carbondale. Born in Carbondale, Sept. 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Loretta (Duffy) Doyle.

She graduated from Ben Franklin High School and Lackawanna Junior College. Mary Kathryn was a founding member of 52 years at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church of Allentown and did volunteer work for St. Thomas More School.

She is survived by her children, Joseph J. and his wife Debra, of Allentown, John F., of Macungie, Patricia A. Riola, of Bethany Beach, Del., Carol C., of Macungie, Scott M. and his wife Colleen, of Stewartsville, N.J.; grandchildren, James, Kelly, Sabrina, Austin and John Finn and Nicholas and Alexander Riola; other family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Edward Doyle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. July 7 at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church narthex. The Heintzelman Funeral Home in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
