Girl of the Month

WCE

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus recently named Sandhya Sriram Girl of the Month for April.

She was recognized for her achievements in math.

Sandhya, the daughter of Sriram Tyagarajan and Sowmiya Ayyaswamy, of Macungie, is a senior at Emmaus High School.

Sandhya is a National Merit Semi-finalist and a National Advanced Placement Scholar. Sandhya has been a United States National Chemistry Finalist twice.

She is involved as the president of the Interact Club and has been a participant in TEAMS Engineering Competition and Science Olympiad.

She has played violin in the EHS Orchestra since her freshman year and also plays the violin in small informal groups. Sandhya also enjoys singing, computer animation and arranging music. She has played doubles tennis on the EHS varsity tennis team since her sophomore year.

Sandhya plans to study for a degree in computer science at Cornell University in preparation for working in animated movies and virtual reality games as a career.
