Join the Great American Cleanup in Macungie April 14

The Parkland Art League will hold its next meeting 7 p.m. April 10 at the Macungie Institute. Artist Jeri Greenberg will demonstrate in pastels. She is a member of the American Pastel Society. For more information, visit sites.google.com.site/parklandartleague/ or parklandart@gmail.com.

Macungie Bears Swim Team will host a meet the team event 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. April 7 at the Emmaus High School pool. Swimmers interested in joining the team are welcome to come and meet the team and coaches. Team registration will also be taken at this event.

With warmer temperatures come the many outside events held from spring through fall at Macungie Memorial Park. Volunteers are needed to help with these events. If you are able to donate some time, please call 610-966-4289 or email macungiepark@gmail.com.

There will be a Great American Cleanup starting 9 a.m. April 14 at Macungie Memorial Park and at the train station.

There will be a bride to bride marketplace April 15 at Macungie Memorial Hall. VIP admission is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and general admission is noon to 3 p.m.

The first cruise night of the season will begin 3:30 p.m. April 21 at Macungie Memorial Park. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

Friends of Macungie Institute will hold a fundraising cash bingo 1 p.m. April 22 at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open noon. Proceeds benefit the Macungie Institute. For more information, call 610-966-7830.

There will be a blood drive at the Macungie Institute April 23.

The Friends of the Macungie Institute are sponsoring a bus trip to the American Treasure Museum and Valley Forge National Historical Park April 25. Cost includes a private guided tram tour of the museum, a buffet luncheon and a bus tour of Valley Forge. For more information, contact the Macungie Institute at 610-966-7830.

There will be a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28. Prescription drugs can be dropped off in the vestibule of the Macungie Town Hall.

There will be an Ah-Ha Arts event May 5 and 6 at Macungie Memorial Park. This will be an artisan pop-up shop focusing on artisans who work in functional crafts including pottery, basketry, soapmaking, herbal crafts, woodworking, candles, leather, fabric, weaving and glass.

There will be a Heroes Helping Heroes Pet Fair event noon to 5 p.m. May 6 at Macungie Memorial Park. For more information, call 610-285-2720.

Macungie Pool is offering discounted family memberships if registered by May 1.

There will be an Alice in Wonderland Tea noon to 2 p.m. May 19. Join Alice and the Mad Hatter for a tea party by the pool with food, art projects and more.

The next bus trips to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs are scheduled for April 16 and May 21. Call the park at 610-966-4289 to reserve a seat.

The Lower Lehigh Lions will meet 6:30 p.m. April 10 and 24 at the Macungie Institute.

Macungie Fire Company meets 7 p.m. April 11 at social quarters.

Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 7 p.m. April 9 at the post home on Lehigh Street.

The Ladies Auxiliary of Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 1 p.m. April 19 at the post home.

Macungie Rod and Gun Club Board meets 7 p.m. April 19 at the club.

Macungie Borough Council meets 7:30 p.m. April 2 and 16 at borough hall, 21 Locust St., Macungie.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held downstairs 7 p.m. April 24. The public is welcome.

Bingo is held weekly Saturday evenings at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 4:30 p.m. and games begin 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 610-966-4289.
