William O. Haupt

of Wescosville

William O. Haupt, 94, of Wescosville, died Feb. 8, 2018. He was the husband of Kathleen (Grider) for 69 years. Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late William and Mabel (Bonser) Haupt.

He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class on the USS Phoenix light cruiser in the Pacific Theater.

He was a 50-year member of the Brick Layers Union Local 5, Allentown.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Susan and husband David Saas; daughter-in-law, Jean; grandchildren, Katie, Stephanie and Justin; brother, Clair. He was predeceased by a son, Scott William.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cedarbrook Nursing Home Resident Activity Fund, Allentown.

A viewing will be held 10 a.m. until service 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at the Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown.
