ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION – Allentown School District Health Service is looking for RNs and/or LPNs to volunteer for their screening team. All school districts in Pennsylvania are mandated to perform screenings on their students from kindergarten to 12th grade every school year. AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION/ AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION, Allentown is looking for volunteers to help 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 24 for the Heart Ball, with registration, auction and check-out. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown - Volunteers are needed to transport wheelchair bound residents to and from in-house appointments and activities 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays. This is an excellent opportunity for exercise and at the same time have a chance to chat with individual residents and make them feel special. NORTHEAST MINISTRY, Bethlehem is seeking volunteers to tutor students in grades one through 12 during their after school homework club. The club meets 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Tutors assist students with homework, reading and school projects. All tutors must complete and pass background clearances before beginning to volunteer. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield, is an animal sanctuary for over 70 pets and farm animals rescued from abuse or neglect. Volunteers are desperately needed to feed/water their ranch animals, perform environmental clean-up and do ground maintenance including winterizing pens and wiring roof for turkey pens. THE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RESTORE, Whitehall is actively looking for individuals (18+ years) and groups (four people max) Friday and Saturday afternoons to assist with the daily operations in the donation center, sales floors and working with the ReStore staff. ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION, Allentown invites you to join their Gala Event planning committee to make their third annual “Celebrating Lives Changed” a huge success. Meetings are held Thursday afternoons through April with the event April 21. There are many opportunities to volunteer from home and call into meetings. COMPEER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs volunteers for one-on-one friendship matches. Compeer matches volunteers from the community with members who are in stable, mental health recovery. Volunteers spend time with the member doing things like talking over a cup of coffee, taking a walk, going to a free concert, and many more. MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown is looking for volunteers (18+ years) to distribute meals to homebound individuals between 11am-1pm Monday-Friday. Teams of 2 deliver to 33 routes throughout Lehigh County. Drive a route or ride along as a visitor. Bring a friend and form a team or let us provide a partner for you. PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY THERAPY DOGS, INC., Kutztown is looking for volunteers to visit with residents at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown on a monthly basis on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm.
