former Bell Labs technician

Harry M. Langan Jr., 89, of Zionsville, died Jan. 3, 2018, in the Topton Lutheran Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Bickel) Langan. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in August. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Harry M. Sr. and Verna M. (Gooding) Langan.

He was a technician at the former Bell Labs for 37 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a deacon, elder and treasurer at Macungie Christian Community.

He received his associate in science degree from Temple University.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife; son, H. Matthew and his wife, Bonnie; daughters, Michele E. and her husband William Lutzko; Marjorie E. and her husband Daniel Dougherty; brother, John E. “Jack,” Raymond Sr. and his wife Jean; 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Sylvia.
