Dorothy M. Hoffman, 88, of Emmaus, died Jan. 7, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herman F. Hoffman. Born in New Tripoli, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Lillian E. (Graff) Howerter.

She was a receptionist for Lehigh County Housing Authority for 28 years, last working Friday.

She was a dedicated member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, where she was a choir member, a member of the altar guild and a member of various other committees.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her chickens and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Howard F. and his wife Linda, of Emmaus; daughters, Kay C. wife of the late Richard Champluvier, of Wyalusing and Elizabeth A. and her husband Cecil McGouirk, of Columnbus, Ga.; grandchildren, Kelly, Amy, Holly, Bryan, Patrick, Shannon, Andrew, Houston and Katie; 18 great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the church.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 11 in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, 18103. A viewing will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
