Scott P. Dillensnyder, 62, of Emmaus, died Nov. 23, 2017, with his wife by his side in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after a valiant fight against cancer. He was the husband of Louise Dillensnyder. They were married for 26 years last June. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John E. Dillensnyder Jr. and Dolores A. (Balliet) Dillensnyder.

He graduated from Kutztown University with a master’s degree in administration. He was a superintendent for the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Center for 35 years, retiring in 2012. Upon his retirement he and his wife lived out their dream as “Snow Birds” in Englewood, Fla.

He bowled in the United Church League for many years. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

He is survived by his wife; stepdaughter, Robin M. and her husband Kenneth Gualtieri, of Emmaus; brothers, David L. and his wife Jean, of Woodbridge, Va. and John E. III and his wife Leslie, of Alllentown; grandchildren, Eli and Enzo; nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 9 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in the funeral home.
