LCCC Early Learning Center lauded
The Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) Early Learning Center has been awarded the highest four-star rating through the Keystone STARS initiative through the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning.
The performance standards are grouped into four levels and address staff qualifications and professional development, the early learning program, partnerships with family and community, and leadership and management. Each level utilizes research-based best practices to promote quality early learning environments and positive child outcomes.
Keystone STARS is managed through a partnership of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning and the Pennsylvania Regional Keys.
The LCCC Early Learning Center, which utilizes the Reggio Emilia Approach and accepts children ages three to five, is on the college’s main Schnecksville campus, serving children of students, staff and the community. Established in 1972, the center encompasses a fine arts studio, culinary cove, open-air classroom and performing arts room.
