Sobriety checkpoint

A total of 57 motorists were stopped, one driving under the influence arrest was made and 32 citations were issued during a sobriety checkpoint in Lower Macungie Township between 10 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3 a.m. Sept. 3. The contacts with drivers were made after the checkpoint had to be canceled due to inclement weather, according to police.

A resident in the 4800 block of Pine Grove Circle, Lower Macungie Township, reported an unknown actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod device Sept. 15, according to police.

Reported by a resident in the 5300 block of Macungie Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, an unknown actor broke into the residence and removed a shotgun, $150 in quarters and two $25 gift cards between Sept. 19 and 26. Reported by a 37-year-old female, of Alburtis, an unknown actor removed the complainant’s cellphone after she had left it behind while at the Giant Food Store, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 4:23 a.m. Sept. 24.

Reported by a resident in the 2700 block of Terrwood Drive East, Lower Macungie Township, an unknown actor used the complainant’s credit card to attempt a purchase 7:23 p.m. Aug. 26.
