Hornet golfers remain unbeaten

With league tournaments less than two weeks away and district competition in the weeks that follow, the Emmaus golf team remains unbeaten.

The Hornets won recent tight matches over Southern Lehigh and Northampton to improve to 15-0.

Emmaus faced Parkland Tuesday and wraps up the regular season Thursday at Stroudsburg. Next Tuesday (Sept. 26) the team will compete in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Championship at Woodstone.

The Hornets beat Southern Lehigh 386-396 at Brookside Country Club Monday. Individual scores were not reported.

Last Thursday (Sept. 14) Emmaus beat Northampton 435-439 at Brookside Country Club.

Sean Jaeger shot a team-low 82, while Michelle Cox, Connor Wambold and Luke Lanzone each carded an 88 and Tristan Keopraseut fired an 89 to round out the scoring. The Konkrete Kids’ Andrew Hozza shot the low round of the match with a 78.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12 Emmaus beat Pocono Mountain West 419-537 at Brookside Country Club.

Luke Lanzone led the Hornets with an 82. Mitch Machulsky followed with an 83, while Sean Jaeger and Jake Caverly each shot 84 and Michelle Cox rounded out the scoring with an 86.
