EHS faces up and coming Kids

Thursday, September 21, 2017 by CJ HEMERLY Special to the Press in Sports

The Emmaus football team bounced back from two straight losses with a win over Pocono Mountain West last Saturday to improve to 2-2.

The Hornets host Northampton Friday night hoping to start their first win streak of the 2017 season.

The Konkrete Kids have twice as many wins as they’ve earned the past two years as they are 2-2 this year with wins over East Stroudsburg North and Pleasant Valley.

“From what I saw on film it looks like they are playing with a lot of energy and effort,” said Emmaus head coach Harold Fairclough. “They are running to the ball on defense, they are aggressive, and more physical than they were in the past. Offensively they give you a couple different formations that can cause some issues if you don’t recognize it and adjust. They are a very run-heavy team, but can throw the ball when necessary. They like to run the ball and play action pass off of it. They are much improved.”

The Kids (2-2, 0-2) are coming off a disappointing 26-13 loss to Freedom last Friday night when they were within just one possession in the fourth quarter, until the Patriots added on a touchdown late.
