UPPER AND LOWER MILFORD COLUMN Lower Milford Fire Co. welcomes carnival

It's carnival time this week at the Lower Milford Fire Company June 4, 5, 6 and 7. Grounds open 6 p.m.; music and rides start 7 p.m.

Every night the fun includes silent auction, live music, GoodTime Amusements, bingo, games, a 50/50 raffle, food and drinks and a beer pavilion.

Wednesday and Thursday are kids' wristband nights.

Entertainment Wednesday is the Michael James Group. Thursday's entertainment is the Clayton Moore Band.

Friday, entertainment is Uncle Smiley and Friday is fireworks night. There is a charge for parking that night.

The fireworks rain date is Saturday and entertainment is Midnight Special.

Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. #l is having a chicken barbecue dinner 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 28. Eat in or take out. This is the fire company's main fundraiser. Call Rosie at 610-966-3367 for tickets or information.

Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, is holding a breakfast buffet 7 to 11 a.m. June 21. There is a charge for guests six and over. There will also be a bake sale. Proceeds go toward church improvements. For information, call 610-966-5115.

The quarterly meeting of the Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will be held 7 p.m. June 24 at Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kings Highway South, Old Zionsville. After a short business meeting, Darlene and Jeff Brosky will give a talk on their involvement with Civil War re-enactment and the daily life of a Civil War soldier. Attendees are welcome to bring Civil War memorabilia for a show and tell. Refreshments will be served. Guests are always welcome. Note the change of meeting place for this meeting. Upper Milford Youth Association summer and fall sports registration opened June 1. The UMLK A League all-star games will be held 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. June 14 at Lenape Park.

The Emmaus-Upper Milford Joint Environmental Advisory Council will meet in Emmaus June 23.

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. June 26 in the Upper Milford municipal building. Jason Flexer will discuss the local ice industry of yore. For information on the society, call vice president Neil Moser at 610-966-4376.

The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit recently voted to call The Reverend Becca Middeke-Conlin to serve as the new associate pastor. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. She will be serving as a full-time pastor with special responsibilities in faith formation for youth and young adults, Rejoicing Spirits, the information technology team and the Ministry in Daily Life mission team.

The Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary will meet 7 p.m. July 1 at the firehouse. The group is always looking for new members.

Meetings begin 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted: The board of supervisors' workshop meeting is June 5 and the regular meeting is June 19. The Historical Commission meets June 10 and the Recreation and Open Space Board meets June 11.
