EAST PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT Directors hold reorganization meeting

At the Dec. 3 reorganization meeting of the East Penn Board of School Directors, the board appointed a president and vice president and the newly elected board members were seated.

East Penn Board of School Director Alan Earnshaw was appointed president and Dr. Ken Bacher was appointed vice president. Also seated were board members Charles H. Ballard, Lynn Donches, Francee E. Fuller, Rebecca Heid, Dr. Ziad Munson, Samuel Rhodes III and Rev. Waldemar Vinovskis. Marc S. Fisher, Esq., Worth, Magee & Fisher, P.C., is the solicitor, Cecilia R. Birdsell, board secretary, Lynn Glancy, treasurer, and Dr. Thomas L. Seidenberger, superintendent of schools.

Fuller complimented and thanked Ballard for his service as board president, noting he will be assuming the vice president role on the Pennsylvania School Boards Association Executive Board which will require a greater amount of responsibility and time. Rhodes concurred with Fuller's compliments.

The board approved its regular meeting dates for 2014; all meetings will be held in the board room located in the administrative office building, 800 Pine St., Emmaus, beginning 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month unless advertised otherwise.

The meeting dates in 2014 are scheduled for Jan. 13, 27; Feb. 10, 24; March 10, 24; April 28; May 12; June 9, 23; July 14; Aug. 11, 25; Sept. 8, 22; Oct. 13, 27; Nov. 10; Dec. 2 and 8.
