Lower Macungie Fire Department Chief Dave Nosal arrived on the scene minutes after the initial dispatch and reported smoke on both levels of the home. Fire crews from Lower Macungie searched the home and discovered the smoke was coming from a malfunction in the HVAC system's blower motor. One engine from Western Salisbury was staged at a nearby hydrant to supply water if needed. The malfunction did not cause any damage to the home and no injuries were reported. Firefighters from Lower Macungie and Western Salisbury fire departments, along with an EMS unit from Macungie Ambulance, respond to a reported smoke in the dwelling call shortly before 7:30 a.m. Jan 4 at 1620 Hidden Valley Road in Lower Macungie Township.
