The Allentown Sylvan Learning Center at 2211 Mack Blvd., Allentown, recognized two young area students for their outstanding participation in Sylvan's summer reading program.

Abby Correll, a sixth grader at Salisbury Middle School, read nine books and completed nine book report projects.

Hunter Lindaman, a second grader from Siegfried Elementary School in the Northampton School district read 14 books and completed 14 book report projects.

Both students received a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card for their accomplishments.

"The Allentown Sylvan Reading Program is a fun way to motivate students to read over the summer," Jessica Schuler Sabol, director of the learning center said. Sylvan has been sponsoring the reading program for the past 12 years.

Sabol said the Sylvan website at www.bookadventure.com offers a free online reading motivation program, allowing readers to create a personalized book list about books read offline and to take quizzes to help them retain what they have read.
