CCHS welcomes new principal

Mr. Dennis Nemes was welcomed as the new Central Catholic High School principal.

Mr. Nemes takes over as principal of CCHS after spending a total of 30 years as the principal of Northwestern Lehigh High School. He comes to Central with a great amount of enthusiasm and excitement for this upcoming school year.

Freshmen and new students were also welcomed to CCHS for their orientation day. First year students were aided by multiple upper classmen students, including student council, Viking Mentors and Viking Ambassadors. The students were given tours of the school, participated in multiple student-led panel discussions and were given a crash course of the "do's and don'ts" of Central Catholic.

The CCHS boys soccer team is off to a good start with wins over Dieruff and Northwestern. Led by seniors Alex Grap, Matthew Wagner, Skylar Strauss, Andy Werner, James Feichtel, Jonathan Matejcek, Tomas Espinoza and Michael Heiner, the team looks forward to continuing their success in their upcoming games..

The freshman parents' open house will take place 6 p.m. Sept. 26. Parents will follow their child's A-day schedule and will get a chance to meet with their teachers.

A similar open house for sophomore, junior and senior parents will take place 6 p.m. Oct. 2.
