Wednesday, August 29, 2012 by CONTRIBUTED ARTICLE in Local News

The East Penn School District has postponed eliminating busing for certain students attending Willow Lane Elementary School for the 2012-2013 school year.

With the exception of children residing in Brandywine Village II, the district will continue busing students until the start of the 2013-2014 school year.

The East Penn School District held an informational meeting for parents and guardians of students residing in Brandywine Village II.

Beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, busing will be eliminated for students living in Beaumont at Brookside, Brandywine Village I, Brookside Farms and Graymoor.

An informational meeting will be scheduled for early October. Parents and guardians will be notified of the October meeting date at the beginning of the school year.

At this meeting, they will hear from district personnel, representatives of Lower Macungie Township, PennDOT and the state police regarding traffic patterns, proposed school zones signs, proposed crossing guard locations and walking paths.

PDF's containing traffic patterns and walking paths are located on the district website. Parents have been alerted of these changes via EduLink, the district notification system.
