Paul Hertl, 86, of Lower Macungie, died August 7, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Evelyn (Turley) Hertl for 4.5 years. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert and Claire (Kornfeld) Hartl.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
He worked as a sales rep. for Atlas Minerals and Chemicals in Mertztown for many years, until retiring.
He was an advocate for no smoking. He volunteered for Smoke Free L.V. and also for the Cancer Society.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Peter of Raleigh, N.C.; daughters, Teresa and Patricia both of Baltimore, Md., Diana and her husband Glenn Evans of Queen Anne, Md.; step-daughter, Sandra and her husband Terry Berg and stepson, Robert Kahn, all of Allentown; grandchildren, Bill and Glenn Evans and John and Audrey Dittman; step-grandchildren, Kelly Rissell and Chris Berg. He was predeceased by a brother, Bill.
